I love the way they seem so engaged with their Macbook (Just imagine their Facebook profiles)... Stylish (I might look similar-ish style-wise to the one on the left after 40 years)... Elegant... No matter quantity of grey hair...
Spotted in a secret coffee shop in Bloomsbury area.. (I think)
The Cure it was... Three call ons and over three hours live concert at Royal Albert Hall. It was something! I'm not saying more than that, cause if you like them you can imagine and if you don't, there's no point wasting words :)
It happened so that I didn't have my digital camera with me but as Cure doesn't happen every day, I allow myself to share few iPhone pictures. I did shoot few on my film camera as well but that requires some patience.
By the way, Im wondering, does he (Mr Smith) say "thank you" or "the cure" between songs?!
Last weekend I got a new (actually quite old) Nikon EF2 film camera. And it will be fair enough if someone asks me, why would I complicate my life by shooting on an old film camera?! At the very least, considering that it's not really cheap to produce 36 shots (only 10 of them might be worth of looking at) and which requires much more concentration on focusing and composition than just clicking a button on a digital camera.
And that's exactly what I like in film, shooting very little, and actually thinking of what I'm shooting... And of course the discovery of what I got - looking at a developed and scanned pictures...
I have to admit, that this time I mostly got pictures out of focus but first try, hey.. And I was actually just testing :)
Anyway, Im exploring, having fun, and figuring out...
Looking and trying to identify a relation between these pictures all of moody-ish Saturday.. Let's say first one is of thinking perhaps, at Foyles book shop in Soho... Second is of reading.. Third is.. let's give it a very obvious name - Red.. The last one is at Tate Modern, those dots are kids on the floor.. Two dots, as I like.. Think and read and red and dots.. Nonsense - that I can relate to..
Someone might say pictures are better than the concert... I like their songs though... They are Editors, alternative rock band.. If you wanna listen, Youtube has got it all...
I was so excited thinking that I coined the term "People Watching" until I got disappointed finding that wikipedia has it already. Annoying! So "People watching or crowd watching is the act of observing people and their interactions, usually without their knowledge."
This is exactly what we've been doing over the weekend - sitting in different places and people watching. Olya was even eavesdropping one Polish woman with red hair, sitting beside us and talking non-stop for hours.
I'm sharing this amazing experience with pleasure and without further comment...
But the first picture which I love (being humble) if you can't guess, is natural sunshine... How amazing is that?! Enjoy...
"Kate Simko is an electronic music composer, live performer and DJ... Formed in 2013, London Electronic Orchestra meshes the lush, evocative textures of classical instruments with the rhythms and soundscapes of electronic music."
I went to Royal College of Music to listen to Kate Simko and London Electronic Orchestra accompanied with interactive visuals on the background.
And, well, I cannot write a review of the performance but at least I can say whether I liked it or not. And yes, I did enjoy it a lot!
And here I share a short video shot on my iPhone so you get an idea what it sounded like.
I wrote on my hand palm that it's women's day and I shall focus on women. I wanted to shoot a portrait of an unconventional woman. Walking around I saw her but was slightly scared to shoot without permission and shy to ask for it. I regretted badly and of course didn't meet anyone remotely as "her-looking" as she.
